Lower unit lube

Anyone use regular gear lube on their outboard lower units? What is the weight of Lubrimatic and how does it compare to regular high performance vehicle gear lube?

I used that and Slick 60 gear lube, then did some research on http://www.bassfishinghomepage.com and found these lubes run extremely hot.
Switched over to Pennzoil Marine and never had a problem.
I've heard good things about Amsoil, but never tried it.
